JUMP FOR JESUS

The Kerygma Feast of Valnzuela has been constantly growing in multitudes since its humble beginnings a few years back. People are starting to be enlightened of the many blessings and benefits a Christian could harvest in God's mighty kingdom.

In the spirit of the Christmas season, the builders of this community put up a Worship concert entitled "Jump for Jesus" that will be held on December 18 at SM Valenzuela Cinema 1 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Be prepared to be the "energizer bunny" on that day for it will be whole afternoon of music and worship  dedicated for the Lord!

MSC will be supporting the said event and will be singing during the Mass part preluding the concert proper. See you there!

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him and He helps me.
My heart JUMPS FOR JOY
and I will praise him with my song.

FEAST VALENZUELA'S FIRST ANNIVERSARY

On July 24, THE FEAST Community celebrated the birthday of its newest "baby" chapter at SM Hypermarket, Valenzuela City.

The Valiantz, named after the Valenzueleños (residents of Valenzuela City), attended with full enthusiasm and zeal! My MSC was also present to support! Apparently, we weren't assigned to sing for the Holy Mass that time but nonetheless, they were still there to witness this victorious event!

It is always fun to serve the Lord in whatever means it may be. I happened to belong to the Music Ministry of the Feast for some time now and some of its other members are from MSC as well. It takes a lot of time to practice and perfect the songs and sometimes we wrap up very late during rehearsal nights! But in spite of the hard work and the conflicts during the rehearsals, there is always an air of excitement whenever we are there together to sing!

One of the highlights of the July 24th Anniversary event was the special message of guest speaker and over-all Leader of THE FEAST community, Bro. Bo Sanchez. Sources say that he was very much enthused by the turn out of the crowd! He was very pleased to see that faithfuls from the youth sector dominated the place! I even saw him smiling at us when we were singing as he was being cued to come up on stage.

Overall, the event was a success! The airconditioning system of SM Cinema 1 even failed to suffice! A scenario that I only witness whenever I watch pay-per-view Pacquiao Fights or really much anticipated movie sequels! But now, people really came out to support THE FEAST. Whether they were there out of curiosity, or it was a geniune display of faith is totally beyond me. All I'm certain of is that they were there because God ALLOWED them to be there.

I wish to say that being at THE FEAST every Sunday is NOT an obligation. Not an extra-chore that we all have to be burdened of. It is a chance for us Christians to learn more about Jesus Christ. A chance to realize that there are a lot more things beyond what we know about being Christians! And most especially, realize Jesus' ULTIMATE plan for us...

SALVATION.

LET'S ROCK CONCERT

Yeah, I know this is a bit late already but after weeks and weeks of rehearsals under the watchful eye (or ears!) of Tito Danny Añonuevo, the Feast Valenzuela Chapter finally had its second major praise and worship concert at the Maysan Barangay Hall on January 8, 2011.

"Let's R.O.C.K." or Rejoice Over Christ's Kingdom was organized once again by the Light Of Jesus community of our parish. It aims to raise funds for future activities and to donate some money to our parish as well.

Some of MSC's members including me were part of the music ministry just like last year. Too bad, Karesse (SOPRANO) was not able to attend practices due to her new job thus giving up her place for now in the concert.

This event was priorly concieved as a Christmas concert. But due to problems with reservations for the venue and other stuff the higher ups of the Kerygma Family decided to move it at a later date. Positive reviews from the attendees poured down on us right after inspite of the many glitches we experienced minutes before the concert. Makes me feel God's presence all the more during times of adversities and that He will always make things turn around positively.

To God be all the Glory!!!

MSC SINGS AT THE FEAST AGAIN!

On August 15, MSC was invited to sing for the Mass Service at SM Valenzuela. Although only a few members came for it was a Sunday, the choir did pretty good!

Many attended last Sunday's Feast. Mostly from the youth sector. Somehow this tells me that we are definitely on the right track, thank GOD!

For the first time, The Kerygma Feast-Valenzuela held a Christmas Worship-Concert at the Maysan Barangay Hall Covered Court on the 29th of December, 2009.

LAST PAPURI-KERYGMA FEAST

The second to the last Kerygma Feast with Ate Josie and Angie was already stressful for me, thinking that it was the last time I would be able to have a chance to sing with them in a not so conventional and "Choir(ish)" manner. I couldn't concentrate! But the latest one was far more worse! I came from Pampanga the night before after a birthday party of a sibling then I had to rush to the Valenzuela Convention Center to attend to such an event.
I kept on fumbling with the lyrics of the songs! More so, I was so engrossed on thinking what will I be without them! Insecurity was already on the verge of pouncing on me and I couldn't bear it!
But God was so good that He gave another reason for us to be together in Worship! And all other negative feelings I had before the event melted away after...

THE TRIO'S FINAL GIG? -- PRAISING GOD AMIDST ADVERSITY

Being the sentimental schmuck that I am, I couldn't help but gather as much memorabilia from Ate Josie and her daughter Angie before they leave for the U.S. in July this year. So on the Kerygma Feast yesterday, I asked a friend to take as much pictures of us singing together as she could so that I could have memorable materials to post on this blog about these two magnificent singers.

I've already posted about the sudden death of Ate Josie's Papa. And in spite of that, she still went on to attend to her duties as part of the Music Ministry on this night of prayer.

In relation with this, I remember a passage in the bible about the sisters, Martha and Mary...(Luke 10:38-42)
"...But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him (Jesus) and asked, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her,
"Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her."

I know this is hard to understand, especially when you are in a position wherein you had to attend to a commitment in the middle of a crisis, more so, a death of a loved one. All I'm saying is that Ate Josie and Angie to me were like the Mary's of today for they opted for the ONLY CHOICE!
For sure, Jesus will do what is BEST for them too.

THE KERYGMA FEAST'S 6TH YEAR IN OLRP

The Kerygma Feast of OLRP celebrated its 6th Year Anniversary on the day of the Pentecost.

The Pentecost is the seventh Sunday after Easter, where Catholics commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Disciples of Jesus Christ. The disciples began to speak in many languages, a sign that the disciples must represent Jesus in delivering the GOOD NEWS in other parts of the world, thus marking the birth of the Christian Church in this world! And what a way to celebrate our PAPURI Feast Anniversary on the same day Christianity was born!

It was, as it always has been, an ultimate spiritual experience for MSC members who were part of the Music Ministry of the Feast as well as the whole congregation.

THE FEAST--AT IT AGAIN

PAPURI FEAST AT ST. LOUIS COLLEGE,
MAYSAN, VALENZUELA CITY,
WHILE DOING "SOUND CHECKING"
UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVEN'T ACQIURED PHOTOS
OF THE MOST RECENT PAPURI FEAST JUST YET.

On March 28, 2009, there again was THE FEAST themed "Pag-aalay ng Sarili sa Ikabubuti ng Marami" held at the Valenzuela City Center For the Arts. MSC was there once again to help out as part of the Music Ministry of the said gathering along with other talented persons from different church organizations in OLRP.

I feel happy and proud of what the Feast Music Ministry have become since our early beginnings. We now sound lot more professional and our showmanship was astounding. We successfully made the congregation jive, dance and even cry with our music. Most importantly, all of us were blessed from the event!

CHILLAX

Who wouldn't want to unwind with the people close to your heart?

That is how therapeutic MSC members are to one another.
Taken at the FEAST Christmas party, 2008.

LEARN TO FOLLOW RULES

Taken at Valle Verde Sports Center. When MSC attended Bro. Bo Sanchez' Sunday FEAST. Apparently, some MSC members just don't know how to follow the rules...ahaha..

MSC JOINS "THE FEAST"

What used to be another one of those "additional church duties" has turned out to be a devotion for some members of MSC. That was how I felt personally at first when I started helping out with "THE FEAST".
This is a non-organizational event which happens several times a year. Its main objective is to share the "GOOD NEWS" of the Bible to everyone who is willing to receive it. MSC and some other individuals from other choirs under OLRP help out in the Musical aspect of the event.

Special thanks to Tito Danny Añonuevo (in green) for always encouraging MSC to be part of every memorable FEAST...
