ATE BHING'S HOMECOMING 2011

MSC's ALTO sweetheart is once again here in the Philippines. She arrived at the NAIA on May 22. It was only just after my birthday (May 5) that she told me that she'd be coming home once again. It has been planned a long time ago but she opted to keep it a secret until her vacation approval has been determined.

She will be staying here exactly two months and two days. Along with a wide array of vacation activities, she will be seeking treatment for her injured shoulders she acquired in Australia that has been bugging her for a long time now. Hopefully, her series of treatments would be successful.

MSC BOYS AND RED HORSE

A happy celebration, a meeting or just a simple gathering among really good friends wouldn't be complete without ice cold Red Horse beer served at the table.

I have no idea how this harmonious connection came about. I didn't even start off liking this. I was fond of drinking a different brand. But somehow, since I'm most of the time with "Red Horse" people, it kinda grew on me and I started liking it.

I'm not saying that drinking is good. It really depends on each and every person's tolerance and open-mindedness. I just always remind myself constantly to avoid getting drunk!

5 NEW MEMBERS

Just when it seemed like MSC has had its last pour of new recruits, God provided the group with a good batch of new members who have very promising vocal chops!
Everyone was happy about the turnout of the auditions. The auditionees were even surprised themselves of how easy was it to get through the auditions. Personally, I always believe that I could always identify whether there is talent in a person or none at all. I believe it's a gift.

For this batch, I am confident that they have what it takes to bring it! Attitude is  also one important factor. The ability of a newbie to jive and mingle with his or her choirmates is something MSC values very much. The improvement in singing (whether there is a need for it) will definitely follow as they go along with the group. There are still a lot of room for improvement regarding their singing abilities. But just the same, I thank God for blessing us with new servants of the church.

TOGETHER AGAIN

After about two months of absence, Mackoy is back to reunite with MSC especially with the love of his life, MSC President Cocoy!

Some things are meant to prosper here and not somewhere else. And the group is welcoming you back with open arms! God bless you more, Mackoy!

GERRY'S BIRTHDAY

There is another reason why we should celebrate this day aside from Easter Sunday... It's Gerry's Birthday!!!

Don't worry, guys, Gerry will be feeding our food mongering tummies during our summer excursion coming real soon! Just be patient, everyone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GERRY!!!

JHOANNA'S BIRTHDAY BASH

It was one of those Sundays that I wasn't able to show up for service in church due to a huge hangover I was feeling after entertaining former classmates, the night before. But an eating spree courtesy of a fellow member celebrating her birthday is just too hard to pass off!

The lovely and very talented Jhoanna threw a big birthday luncheon at her place! Lots of food was served, enough to accommodate MSC's BIG APPETITE for sure! Of course a party that involves a group of singers won't be complete without Karaoke!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JHOANNA!
Thank you for your love and service for MSC!
May you be blessed abundantly!

JAYPEE'S DAY

Another one of the younglings of MSC recently celebrated his birthday on the 9th of March...

Certainly, these younglings are verging on becoming real adults in the group in no time at all! Soon, all the veterans will be run over by these future MSC leaders!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAYPEE!!!
God bless you and may you find in your heart the true meaning of service and committment the same way your seniors discovered it, themselves!!! May you be successful on all your endeavors!

HIDING TITA

I wonder where Ate Lulu is right now! After weeks and weeks of not showing up during the masses and practices, Im starting to get worried and paranoid...

She used to be one of the most active members of MSC. She not only participates within the group but outside as well serving as our emmisary and ambassador of  goodwill to the other choral organizations under our parish. Things changed quite a bit the time she was blessed with Julliana, her daughter...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TITA LULU!!!

You may not be always present but I know for sure that you always keep MSC in your heart nad mind!
We miss you!

(My apologies for I couldn't find a solo photo of Tita Lulu in my files.)

SUCCESSFUL SINGAPORE!

So here you go! Another TENOR has left the active duty of being an MSC member. Mark has made a "MARK" in Singapore to pursue a career that he has dreamt of for so long! Although I really have no idea what it is particularly (ahaha..) Nonetheless, I recieved news that he passed the final interview with flying colors and was immediately hired! Whew! That is truly a relief especially with Ms. President Cocoy, the girlfriend, who anxiously awaits for news about Mark's status there.

Hang in there, bro! We'll be visiting you there sometime soon!

CONGRATULATIONS, MARK! GOD BLESS YOU!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ODESSA

February 11 was a special day for O-de! It was her 24th birthday! How time flies when till now, I could still remember hanging out at their family compound (Tatay Boyet's place as well) and seeing her running along their wide expanse of concrete space in her underwear (no pun intended)!!! HAHA! Or was she wearing one??

But now, the little girl with her signature adorable, big cheeks has truly become one great, talented woman!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ODESSA!!!

But it doesn't end there. On February 21, MSC will be celebrating her birthday at Dampa, Farmers Market in Cubao along with the other February Birthday Celebrants! The cheesy details about that trip... soon.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GLADY!

Glady, MSC's newest public relations officer celebrated her birthday on the 4th of February. We look forward for your grand birthday bash on the 21st along with our other members who will be celebrating with you this month!

BEST WISHES TO YOU!
MAY YOU BE BLESSED ALWAYS!

A FEW MORE DAYS LEFT BEFORE SG

The elders of and close friends of Mackoy in MSC were invited for a dinner at the Trinoma Mall by MSC President Cocoy. The purpose? A mini-sending off party for Mackoy before he leaves for Singapore. We must not forget that this was also a surprise for him!

The dinner happened particularly at Kamay Kainan where the pack enjoyed a very sumptuous buffet! The snails were outstanding! Although some of us would be grossed out just by thinking of eating these slimy critters. There was a happy atmosphere that night! All of us were openly expressing our utmost optimism about Mackoy's new voyage.
After dinner, the group transferred to Coffeebean for a nightcap and more bonding. Very typical of the oldies' ways if you ask me.

That was actually the last time I saw Mackoy. But I was thankful to be given the chance to celebrate his "future" success in Singapore! Cheers, Mackoy and Bon Voyage!!!

MACKOY IN SINGAPORE

Another MSC member has followed the steps of co-Tenor Glenn Foronda. Mark John, also known as Mackoy (TENOR), left the country hoping for a much successful career in Singapore. On January 22, 2010, Mackoy made his final stroll (for now) along the familiar thoroughfares of Metro Manila to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) which marks the start of his newest adventure to Singapore. It was certainly a sad day for MSC most especially for our President Cocoy (If you want to know why, better ask her about it, yourself! hehe).

Where ever you may be, we wish you all the best. May you be successful and be able to share your blessings to others as well... God bless you! BON VOYAGE, MON AMI!!!

JUST ANOTHER FUN DAY WITH MSC

MSC welcomes back Glady Mendiola (soprano), a resident of Bahayang Pag-asa Subdivision. This was her first time to attend the Mass and rehearsals after almost three years (I think!). May your comeback be as fruitful as ever!

ALL SAINTS DAY-ALL SOULS DAY 2009

We, Filipinos have always been sentimental people. We show how much we care for other people, relatives and friends even if they are not with us anymore. It is very much exemplified by the fact how much we spend time at the cemetery during All Souls' and All Saints' days. MSC is not an exemption.
Our current president, Cocoy was spotted spending time with her family and close relatives at a certain cemetery on Nov. 1. Perhaps many other members were doing the same thing too during this time...
Happy Long Weekend, everyone!

MULTIPLICITY

This shot was taken at Hotel Vida in Clark, Pampanga.

Somehow, looking at this pic got me thinking of weird means of getting people on board MSC that I won't dare discussing in this segment (not just yet). I'm still not that contented with the number of members we currently have. And it's a shame if we all fail to maintain an ideal number of "functioning" members in our group. It would surely be tragic for our present generation of MSC's if we put a halt in bringing forth new members.
That's why I invite all you talented people out there to sign up with the Maysan Senior Choir.

WITWI: JOY?

Another MSC member with a fine soprano voice is currently out of the scene...
Joy Cruz, niece of legendary MSC tenor, Oyet de Galicia is presently an employee at a local cooperative. Unfortunately, her work days include Sundays so she fails to join the weekly church services and rehearsals.
But no matter, when she finds another job, hopefully soon, things would go back to normal to both her and MSC.
We miss you, Joy.

ODE TO IKANG

The mother and daughter tandem has long gone to San Francisco but shortly after, God blessed us yet again with the Jian and Jian Co.! Sinister sisters, Odessa (alto) and Francesca Oba (soprano) , also known as Odeh and Ikang are nieces of MSC's "tatay" Boyet. I used to see them roaming around their family compound when they were little as we hold rehearsals there in the past. Now they're all grown up and ready to become part of MSC and serve their church just like their uncle.
I recieved a note via Facebook by Ikang telling me how much she enjoys the rehearsals and the church songs. I am very much delighted that she/they feel that way.
