MSC SUMMER 2009 PART 2: VILLA MAGINHAWA

After approximately two hours on the road and a couple of pittstops, we finally arrived to the province of Laguna where there is a place known in the tourism industry for their Resorts and Hot Springs.

Like we usually do for the past FOUR years, we drive around looking for a vacant private resort in the neighborhood that would be suitable to accommodate the choir overnight and has the best price! The hunt for the best resort thus ended when we landed a great deal with the caretakers of Villa Maginhawa Resort.

Villa Maginhawa is a handsome big two-storey house. It is big enough to fit two to three sets of living room sofa both up and downstairs, complete with a lot of recreational "toys" like pool tables, foosball and karaoke. Upstairs were three air conditioned rooms for a comfortable sleep. Most of all, a big swimming pool right by the patio that all of us couldn't wait to dive in!

But before we give in to the tempting sight of this swimming pool outside and go wet and wild, our late lunch was of highest priority! (continued)

MSC SUMMER 2009 PART 1: LAGUNA HERE WE COME!

At long last! The much anticipated activity of the summer season for MSC has arrived! The MSC Summer Extravaganza 2009 that all of us have been beggin' to happen since Holy Week!!!
After weeks and weeks of planning and preparation, not to mention my blogs screaming for some R & R, MSC had its annual summer activity in the province of Laguna (again?) on June 12 (holiday/ Philippine Independence Day), 2009. It's an overnight affair where we rent a private resort complete with amenities of a home away from home. This is the time the members get to relax amongst each other, have fun and live like a real family even if it is limited to only a day and a few hours.

The long journey to Laguna starts at Hilario's Sizzlers Restaurant on the morning of June 12 when all the members assembled at seven o' clock or at least tried to (ahaha!).

We had two stop-overs on this trip. One was at Wartermart in Quezon City to buy last minute food and drinks and the other one was at a gasoline station along the South Expressway for bathroom breaks and to grab a bite at the surrounding fast food chains in the area. (continued)
