ATE BHING'S KARAOKE BLOWOUT

The Balikbayan is at it again! Our very own Ate Bhing, who is in the country right now for some extended vacay from slaving away in Australia, finally threw a karaoke party at the "MUSIC BANK" along Timog Avenue in Quezon City.

It was such a musical extravaganza that night! Since we are of different ages, our music somehow differs in genres. Nonetheless, everyone had a chance to shine that night and show off each and everyone's singing prowess! There was literally no room left for the food on the table. The food just kept on coming in! My favorite was the fried chicken. The meat was so tender it literally falls off the bone! Something i would surely come back for!

ATE BHING'S YAKIMIX EXPERIENCE

What is with YAKIMIX that it is constantly gaining a growing number of patrons nowadays?

As part of Ate Bhing's very complex homecoming itinerary, my sister (Pamela, Soprano Alum) managed to squeeze in her tight schedule a simple buffet dinner for our loving cousin from Australia at Yakimix restaurant in Makati. The wide array of Korean, Japanese and other Asian cuisines that are highlighted in their well organized buffet are simply heavenly!

Her Smile really shows how much fun she is having that night!

The smokeless grill is one of the main features of the resto apart from the delicious food they serve here. 

It was raining non-stop outside while our digestive system work non-stop as well that night.

MSC SUMMER OUTING 2011 P7 - DINNER AND ATE BHING'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

It is Ate Bhing's first time to celebrate her birthday in the Philippines after five years of living in Australia. A few hours before dinner, Mackoy, Cocoy, Tito Oyet and Joy went out to find a store to buy a decent cake for Ate Bhing without her knowledge.  The plan is to throw a surprise birthday party for her.

At dinner time, the group gathered round the long concrete table and called on "unsuspecting" Ate Bhing. Upon seeing the cake I could feel that she was deeply touched! Especially when MSC started to sing her the "Happy Birthday Song" cueing her to make a wish and blow the fire off her birthday candle!    

The surprise birthday celebration for Ate bhing was a success. It was an instant party and the mood was intensely high that night! The food was unmistakenly superb as always. Some instantly geared up for the imminent booze overload that was set up to commence after dinner. While others lined the karaoke machine with party music. I must say that this year's crowd all did their own little ways to make this night a memorable one especially for our birthday girl!

ATE BHING'S HOMECOMING 2011

MSC's ALTO sweetheart is once again here in the Philippines. She arrived at the NAIA on May 22. It was only just after my birthday (May 5) that she told me that she'd be coming home once again. It has been planned a long time ago but she opted to keep it a secret until her vacation approval has been determined. 

She will be staying here exactly two months and two days. Along with a wide array of vacation activities, she will be seeking treatment for her injured shoulders she acquired in Australia that has been bugging her for a long time now. Hopefully, her series of treatments would be successful.    

A PRELUDE TO ATE BHING'S HOMECOMING

Not to brag or anything, but it was already planned several months ago that my sister, Pam (SOPRANO, alum) is to visit our cousin, Ate Bhing (ALTO) in Melbourne, Australia for a few weeks of R&R. ( I wonder when my turn  would be?...ahaha!)

Anyway, both my close "Ates" toured practically the whole continent of Australia. One state, plane ride and crowd after another. Then celebrated Ate Bhing's Birthday there on June 13. She doesn't  get to party with us anymore on her birthday since she already migrated down under. And this was perfect! She had Ate Pam to celebrate her birthday with her there.

Then they went back home to the Philippines together so that Ate Bhing could attend to Sister Yoyo's 25th Feastday and the Grand MSC reunion. And most importantly, so that Ate Bhing would be able to see her family and close friends again. Kuya Carlos, Ate Bhing's hubby, followed a couple of days after.  

ATE BHING'S RETURN

Ate Bhing was back in the Philippines for a few days of vacay this time with the love of her life, Kuya Carlos! It is always nice seeing her reunite with her long-time friends especially the ones she really had gotten close with in MSC. A few clubbings and eating outs, a trip to Cebu and Singapore made up her entire vacation which was simply worth it. 

A few months of saving up and we'll be surprised to see her here again in no time!  

ATE BHING'S TREAT AT DENCIO'S GRILL

About more than a week after landing in the Philippines for a homecoming holiday visit, Ate Bhing (Alto) finally met with MSC and had the chance to share her blessings with the group in a special dinner at Dencio's Grill in Quezon City, last Saturday, December 12, 2009.

This group consists of the older batch of members that Ate Bhing was able to serve in the church with when she has not yet migrated to Australia. The dinner was intimate with just a not so long table (but a whole lot of food served). Memories of the past, especially the funnier ones were most of what have been talked about and laughed at that night. Most importantly, there was a chance for Ate Bhing to catch up with the happenings of each and every person present that night on a personal level.

The dinner came to an end at 1AM, Sunday after finishing a pitcher of Dencio's Frozen Blue Margarita for MSC has to serve for the Mass at 8:30 the following morning. Brief yet memorable.

ATE BHING'S HOMECOMING

Hello MSC! Our very own Ate Bhing (Alto) is here in the Philippines! It was a surprise homecoming that only my sister, MSC alum, Pam (Soprano) knew and kept secret from all of us, her family, until she had no choice but to tell me about it for she needed someone to be with her when she picks Ate Bhing from the airport at (supposedly) 7:00 in the morning.

It was a long ride to the airport and I was restless in my seat. I couldnt wait to see Ate Bhing again after almost a year! She didn't know that I was with Ate Pam and she herself got surprised to see me there.

Her main purpose of coming home is to see the family and her friends and to attend to a batch reunion consisting of former classmates from St. Jude Academy (now named La Consolation Colleges) where she had her secondary schooling. She's here to spend another warm Christmas in the Philippines where most Filipinos abroad yearn to have an opportunity of doing.

It was a glorious flight she says and is very happy to see all of us, her family and some friends. Worry not, my dear MSC for she will make time to see the group very soon!

WITWI: BINGOOOOO!!!

Lourdes Eugenio Mondido was commonly regarded as "Ate Bhing" by MSC. She was one of the strong pillars of the group ever since. She's like a mascot because of her funny antics and idiosyncrasies! She would have her embarrassing yet hilarious moments that she would not hesitate to share with everyone close to her. But underneath the superficial reveals a genuinely compassionate and generous persona. She has very good chops when it comes to singing! Maybe it runs in the family. In fact, she's my first cousin.

Aside from being a talented singer, she is one tough person. She has surpassed a lot of storms in her life in the past and moved on with her head held high!

Now, she lives in Melbourne, Australia with her loving husband, Carlos. Even though she's away from her hometown and her close friends, she would always be a big and loving supporter of MSC!
