MISSING ANGELI

I was browsing through my photocollection when I came across a picture of a school facade that I took a few months back. I remembered seeing the exact drawing of it made by one valued member of the group that has now migrated to the U.S. to be with her mom and dad.

Angie, who used to be so timid and small has now bloomed into a very beautiful young woman. She would sing and play the guitar, much to the amazement of her co-choir members and friends. Such a total performer! But other than that, she is also talented in the art department. Which tells me that this kid would definitely go places and has many doors of opportunities lined up just waiting for her grand entrance.

We miss you, Angeli!

ANGIE AND JOSIE'S LAST SUNDAY MASS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Sunday, July 12, 2009 was a memorable day for MSC.

It was when tears welled up from the eyes of almost all of the members when Angie sung her solo part of the song "Huwag Kang Mangamba". We were already used to hear her sing this song, but at this particular Sunday service was different. It was the last time all of us we would have to hear heart-warming voice in person.

I bet many of the people in the congregation who saw us wondered why the group was very emotional that day.

The choir will certainly miss this mother-daughter tandem!

EASTER VIGIL- BRING IT ON!

So the time has come for the real deal. The culmination of the many preparations that have been done. The ultimate question left unanswered now is...

COULD THE MAYSAN SENIOR CHOIR REALLY CUT IT?

I'm happy and proud of what MSC did. In spite of some minor errors along the way, the service went pretty well, if you ask me.
But amidst all this pride I'm feeling for my group, I couldn't ignore a certain fact that is hovering just above my head, ready to pounce on me anytime soon. Seeing Angie, singing her heart out at the altar made me a little bit sad. I couldn't help but think that maybe this is the last time I would get to see her doing this. For soon, she will be migrating to the U.S. with her mom, Ate Josie.
So without a bit of hesitation, I brought out my camera and took a photo of her at the altar so that MSC could have something to remember her by, while doing what she does best... SINGING THE PSALMS!

For me, as always, it has been a great Easter Vigil Service for MSC this year... And I hope the whole congregation thinks the same...
