AT THE MASTER'S GARDEN

Taken approximately 5 years ago.
I have loved you, just as my Father has loved me. So remain faithful to my love for you. If you obey me, I will keep loving you, just as my Father keeps loving me, because I have obeyed Him.
-John 15: 9-10

WHAT'S COOKIN'?

What better way to hang out with your best buds is to get FOOD involved!

MSC always makes it a point to go dine out once in a while for bonding and fellowship. From the cheapest (BBQ and isaw) to the most extravagant restaurants to MSC standards, as long as food is present, we could never go wrong!

WITWI: PIMIE?

Hey! Where the heck are you??

If there is anyone out there who might have seen this girl, please inform MSC of her whereabouts. Her friends and choirmates miss her!

Description: Fair-skinned, very sophisticated but easily gets lost at Greenhills, CHUBBY... but pretty! (how about that??)

THE GUY WITH A NAME!

Oyet.

As for some who may have known him for so long, they would likely say that he could appear snobbish and intimidating. But once you get a chance to chat with this fellow, you would realize how great this person truly is! He is generous in so many ways and a friend to so many people! He could cook you a feast and leave you craving for more! A true asset for the Tenors... and the choir! He is very frank and straightforward which can be offensive at times (REALLY). But a few slaps on the face wouldn't hurt when it came from a true friend.

And most of all, beyond that serious facade is a gentle, endearing and flamboyant person!

FAMOUS LINE: "I have a name! And my name is OYEEEET!"

TITO GERRY

Gerry "Ponga" Laforteza.
Silent water runs deep.
Deep that when it comes to his jokes and gags, he could always dig up lots of it stashed even in the deepest corners of his mental archives. Quick thinking and great timing on the delivery of his funny remarks are always his forte!

Mr. President 2007-2008
He was one of those who would go away from the spotlight and give the others their chance to shine. But not for long! It was when the time came that he would prove his worth for MSC when the group voted him as President! In spite of being a "rookie" father and a career person, he managed to sqeeze in his busy sched things that were needed to be done for MSC. Like attending monthly meetings, text messaging us to remind scheds (waking us up during 5:00AM masses) and even the simplest of things like being present in each and every activity the choir had during his term with all his might! In short, he accepted the challenges of being a true leader, setting aside its perks and glamour.
Tito Gerry's Leadership will always be acknowledged along with the great past presidents of the Group and his legacy will live on forever!

Fashion Sense
In this photo, taken at the Chinese General Hospital, he made time to color-coordinate with the trashbins! ahaha!

FLASHBACK: MSC SUMMER 2008

In 2008, MSC went on an excursion as one of its annual activities in the province of Laguna. Thanks to generous members currently working abroad and others celebrating their birthdays on those particular months (May and June) who willingly shelled out some cash to make this excursion possible.

It was quite a fantastic opportunity for MSC to renew its group spirit, bond with one another and simply to unwind even for such a short time away from the real world. From the delicious food that we brought, the food prepared on site by our wonderful "elders", the bottomless booze that we got to consume until the wee hours of the morning to the videoke jamming that could wake Mount Makiling up, we all feel blessed and very much satisfied!

Activities like these are just but icing on a cake. What matters is we all enjoyed each other's company in everything we do. Thanks to Ate Bhing for the MOOLAH, Pimie and Tita Pines (Pimie's Mom) for the VENUE, Tito Oyet and Ate Jo for preparing the food and Tito Boyet, for always providing us the ride each and every year!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATE JO!

MSC members, old and new treat each other as family. And in every family, there is always a "nanay". Fortunately for us, we have Ate Josie!

She voluntarily provides everything the choir needs: copies of songs, the weekly psalms that she never fails to teach us when she's around and even monetary assistance for members in need (imagine that?? a true Mother... Teresa?). She may appear like a tamed cat but surely could unleash the tiger in her once provoked. She's very loud when she talks but underneath the screeches, is a sensible and loving "mother/ate/yaya (ahaha!)/PA" to us all!
We celebrated her birthday at Dampa, Farmer's Market in Cubao, QC. It was one memorable first for the group to go pig-out together there. Starbucks was a likely candidate for a nightcap but unfortunately, there was no room for that, that night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATE JO!
GOD BLESS
THANK YOU FOR COMING INTO OUR LIVES!!!

JOGGING AT THE CIRCLE

Christmas has gone by and summer is fast approaching... We don't wanna be caught off-guard with our tummies untucked while hanging out on the beach, do we?

So on one glorious Sunday morning, MSC went for a jog at the Quezon City Circle (one place no hardcore jogger is unfamiliar with). We were all geared up with our outfits and psyched to take those unwanted flabs off! It was a "ho-hum" start, for it was still a bit early when we got there and the sun hasn't really shown its full splendor, but eventually, having been inspired by the other people who came there for the same purpose, we managed to run a couple of laps around the historic monument with flying colors! At least some of us did...

Afterwhich, we had breakfast (healthy? I don't think so..) at a nearby restaurant and went on exploring the "Circle" for a while more before heading back home.

Wonder when will we be coming back?...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COCOY!

After two years of beautiful memories and a lot of activities led by President Gerry Laforteza, the Maysan Senior Choir votes for a new president who would lead the group for another two years of meaningful service to the church of Our Lady of the Rosary here in Valenzuela City, Philippines.

Annalyn Amorin, famously known as "Cocoy" by her family and close friends has accepted the challenge of honing the group once more to its utmost integrity and value. Her perky and outgoing attitude coupled with her good looks is one heck of a package! And all, particularly the past presidents of the group are confident that MSC is truly in good hands.

And how timely it is that this first-ever blog for MSC was made today, Feb. 25 which is her birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COCOY AND GODBLESS YOU ALWAYS!
